Musical Pick of the Week - Needs More Bass (Thomas En Masse Remix)
Well, I'm not sure if anyone really remembers the remixes, or the actual track, "Needs More Bass". It appears on my 2009 concept album "Darkness", and had it's own pre-release single with several remixes of the original on there.
One of my favourite remixes on there was actually done by myself. (actually, all the remixes bar the DJ GODS remix were done by myself :D ) The one i'm showing off this week (again) is the "Thomas En Masse" remix, when that project was still in it's "Techno" stages, though now it has transformed into my french/sampled house project.
The remix itself, I think, has alot more going on than in the original, so big wins all around. I hope you lot enjoy it too. Though I must point out that the single/ep is about to be re-released on "Get Some! Records" so i'll do a massive post on the single, and the other re-releases, probably next week now.
Dark.

100th Post
Finally! My 100th post on this blog! :)
And it comes with a bit of a revision to my latest updates. I've narrowed down my new music projects to just a few items:
For Phantom Record's newly formed project, "Phantom Anthems", I have decided to pull the "Go Outside" ep, and use said track for this project. I'm going to go over the track once more and tweak it to see if it can be improved before finalising it.
Also for Phantom Records, I have begun work on my next full release. This is as of yet unnamed, but i am planning to reelase 2 pre release and 2 post release singles with this.
For the label that I am co-CEO of, "Get Some! Records", I am putting together a "Remakes" album, which will consist of remakes and remixes of some of my older tracks, such as "Abomination" and "Asphalt Assault".
As a final note, I thought i'd add this little example of how I can sometimes integrate my hobbys:
Firstly, apologies for the rubbishness of the picture, I have uploaded another one on my Photobucket account if you want to have a better look.
This is a reskin of a steam locomotive for MSTS, which is operating on my fictional company "Dark Railways". See the link already? It is also named "Gammacords", a reference to one of the creepiest tracks I ever made.
The railways link goes even further too, because some of my tracks on 2010 are named after steam locomotives ("257 Squadron", "Tangmere" and Bellerophon" being prominent examples.)
Until laters,
Dark.

Updates: 9th July 2010
9 - To be released soon on "Phantom Records".
257 Squadron - Final single from the album "2010", to be released soon on "Get Some! Records".
Juniper Rocks - Collaborative effort with "Matthew Riley", to be released soon on "Get Some! Records".
Remakes 2010 - A short collection of remade tracks that I either wanted to improve or change. This includes "2010" versions of some of my older tracks, and some newer ones too. Consider them remakes, remixes, etc.
Untitled Album 2011 - Unnamed as of right now, but I am currently planning this album. It will most likely be a mixture of styles, but will be predominantly progressive electronica. Two tracks have been created for this so far, one unnamed and the other called "Go Outside".
Oblivion Live Set - This is the working title for a live mix set I will be working on soon, which will hopefully be utilised for playing live sets with "Phantom Records" and "Get Some! Records" if they ever organise a world tour, or something along those lines.
Cheers,
Dark.

Dark DJ Costume Idea
Below is a fairly rubbish drawing (done on MS Paint!) of my "Dark DJ" costume Idea, mainly for live shows with Phantom Records and Get Some! Records, if I ever get to perform one properly!
It basically outlines the following:
A Halloween Mask, which is actually a halloween mask, of which I will be modifying when I get some spare ones.
My fairly large black Coat. 'Cos it looks cool.
Fingerless Gloves for making teh musics.
Headphones to hear teh musics.
Jeans and a top, just because that's what I iconically wear.
Deck shoes, because they're comfy.
That's about it for tonight I think...
Cheers,
Dark.

For Lack of a Better Post...
Hey all!
I apologise for the lack of posts lately, but I have not really been very productive over the last few weeks. This is mainly due to the fact that I am still waiting for two releases to actually be released on Get Some! Records. For those who are interested, these are the "257 Squadron" single and the "Juniper Rocks" Collaboration EP with Matthew Riley. Hopefully, these should be out soon, so that I can write about them and move onto my next projects...
I have, however, entered a remix competition, for "Aufgang" and their track, "Dulceria". I know it won't win, and isn't the best I have ever done, but do please have a listen and tell me what you think. You may also notice that I have now got a Fairtilizer account, as the competition states that you need one of these. It could come in useful for track hosting, as demonstrated below...
Cheers,
Dark.
P.S. I'm slightly drunk while writing this. Sorry.
