Dark DJ - Tune In EP

Photobucket

Photobucket

This is my latest release, which has bee created for "Tune In Records" as an exclusive. It is mainly demo material, with some differing techniques in the mastering of some tracks.

"Tune In" has a dreamy but strong introduction, with the vocal "Tune into Tune In" repeated and heavily distorted. The rest of the track has an 8-bit tribal feel to it, with a heavy rave synth coming in halfway through the track.

"The Hania Experiment" is possibly the strangest track on this EP, with an oscillating pitch synth and bells. Again, this one has some 8-bit synth style to it, but with some serious percussion and bass.

"Down Down" has minimal variation, but a catchy main riff. I have tried to replicate some "Deadmau5" elements with this track , Such as the reverb and filters. This one, I feel, is a little like marmite, you either love it or...

My personal favourite on this EP is the last track, slightly self-titled "Dark's Groove". Again, there is minimal variation between the synth patterns, but there are plenty of nice effects that keep it fresh and entertaining. The addictive bassline, laidback style and breaks make this one a rather pleasant listen.

Here it is, my latest collection of remixes of various artists that I like.

I guess top picks on this remix album are my "Soma" remix, which I think is faithful to the original and the style of Deadmau5 with regards to synths. Also worthy of note is my "Thinkin Bout U" remix, with which the original artist was impressed with!

Anyways, I hope you enjoy this latest collection of covers, edits and remixes!

2010 Remixes

So i've taken some advice and decided to do a remix album for "2010"...

Basically, I will need remixes of each track on the album, from "Craptastic" right through to "True Fax". Only the best/most interesting will make it onto the album!

Basically, the rules are to contact me (either email if you have me or ask for it, commenting this post, or through any of the links on the side of the blog) and ask for the sample pack of your choice.

Once you have recieved the pack, and remixed the song, send it back to me privately and I will have a listen and get back to you as soon as possible.

Each remix has to be at 320kbps, but I can convert it if needs be. All remixes have to be done by the 16th May 2010.

Sorry if this post seems rushed or awkwardly written, But i've got alot of things to do right now, and have to finish another post. I hope to get some responses to this post, and would love to hear some remixes soon.

One last thing I Must admit though, I already have an Ace remix of "257 Squadron" that will more than likely be featured, and "Tangmere" remixes will be used for it's respective single, so plase ask for tracks other than these.

Tangmere Single: Remixes Needed

So I finally decided to scrap "257 Squadron" as a single, but instead concentrate on the other Battle of Britain locomotive on the album, "Tangmere".

This is mainly because, in many respects, this song is alot better than 257. And it could potentially be a classic! So, ill be asking around to see if I can rely on some remixes of this track.

If any readers would like to have a stab at "Tangmere", please feel free to leave a comment or contact me or something for the sample packs...

Cheers,

Dark.

2010 Review

First things first, some alternative artwork for the album, for anyone who didn't like the original:

Main post:

My good friend Niteshade has finally done the review of "2010" I asked him for, and I must say I am myself impressed and surprised by his track by track review.

If you have'nt read it yet, here is the"2010" Review by "Niteshade" on Ilictronix

My own reactions? Very very impressive. As the artist, I obviously believe everythin I make is perfect! Haha, seriously, Im surprised that "Monster" scored the least, followed by "257 Squadron". But 7's arent too bad are they?

I'm extremely pleased with his views on "Tangmere", "Why Should I?", "Don't Care" and "Bellerophon", because these are the tracks I feel I worked on the most. And between you and me, these are definitely the standouts of the album, so one of two may get a single!

Artwork seems to have been negatively seen by some fellow bloggers, but at the end of the day, it is my album and my own artwork, so I am happy with them. Yes, they could be more exciting, but I do prefer my releases having my own simplistic imprint to them. In any case, I have made some alternative art, at the top of this post.

So yes, a very good review, I'm very happy that it got recognised, and I hope to see some more views on the album soon!(and hopefully some new fans!)

Cheers,

Dark.
