Dark House Remixes

Anyone fancy remixing tracks from my "Dark House" EP?

Firstly, You can download the Original EP from my mediafire account, Here. Secondly, a backstory to what is essentially my most popular release to date:

Released in late 2008, "Dark House" was my very first venture into "Sampling": That is, taking old disco songs and transforming them into magnificently house-esque songs with a dark undertone, Hence the title.

Now, I myself used to think that artists who sample are pretty much stealing old songs and "Remixing" them. Piece of cake, right? WRONG! My first attempt didnt work out so well (never saved it...) mainly because I could'nt really work the samples as they were...

So, with the help of a Sample Cutter, I managed to actually try it out proporly, by cutting up the sample and changing pitch, reverb, sequence etc. The final version of this experiment was "Felix", one of my better known tracks. (Although I have a suspicion that is because it's name and the overall structure of the track is simmilar to Daft Punk's "Phoenix".)

Playing a little more, I came up with "Ignis Vantage", which sounded again quite simmilar to "Felix" but I feel it had a better quality sample. Afterwards came "Pikes Peak", Which was originally voted the worst track on the EP, but I love it to death for some reason, no matter what anyone said!(Overprotectiveness much? And I put ALOT of work into this one!)

Possibly considered the "Filler Track" of this EP, "Funk" was actually one of my personal favourites until I finished the final track. I Think I liked this one because the name really suited the style of the song. (And is, again, simmilar to the title of another Daft Punk song, "Da Funk".)

But my true masterpiece of this album, many would agree, was "Caracus Smash". A truly epic piece of sampling on my part, created using the awkward sample I tried to use for my first attempt at sampling ("Tell Me Why, Performed By "Change", this is now one of my absolute favourite tracks, and I hope will go down in history as one of my Greatest Hits.

Anyways, enough of the history lesson! I've created sample packs for all of these, in the hope that I'll get enough variable remixes to make an album with. But also because I want to see some more love for these truly strange and epic sampled house songs. :)

Here are the sample packs for each song:

01 Felix

02 Funk

03 Pikes Peak

04 Ignis Vantage

05 Caracus Smash

Each sample pack should contain the original samples I used, as well as the cut up samples and other sounds (Drums, Synths etc.)If you do decide to remix any of these, Post a comment with a download link, or MSN / email me at: thomasdibden(at)hotmail(dot)com (sorry for that, But it reduces spam, allegedly.

Thanks
